While not recommended, some beginner students may choose to learn Pinyin only (and not Chinese characters).

If you choose to learn Pinyin only, there are two differences to your account:

1. When studying, you will not be shown the character and quizzed on what the Pinyin is. Instead, you will be shown the character and Pinyin together, and quizzed on what the definition is.
2. Your dashboard and vocabulary lists will display words as Pinyin, instead of characters.
